Lea was born in her mother's home in the country near Quivilla in Huanuco Province, Peru. She grew up in the rural atmosphere
of her mother's small farm and always loved animals and plants.
Her mother, a widow, raised Lea and her two brothers Ruben and Eleazar. She had to go to high school in the Provincial
Capital, Huanuco, because there was no school in Quivilla.
Both brothers went to the country's capital, Lima, to work and Lea later followed them. There she met Jim and eventually
they were married.
They have three children, Jonathan, Perry and Rubyli and seven grandchildren, all of whom live in the USA.
